The first stage of a primary study of the Dance Department of the Elementary school of Art
The aim of the educational process is exclusively about elementary dance breeding of the students.
The first phase
Continues from the preliminary stage to the 3rd year. Its duration is 4 years and is known as a dance preparation.
The aim of the first phase is
the preparation of students for the second phase of a primary dance education by the consistent method. This phase starts in the 4th year and ends with the graduation from the 1st stage in the 7th year.
The second phase
continues from the 4th year to the 7th year, its duration is also 4 years and comprises the basics of different dance techniques: classic dance, folk dance, modern dance and jazz dance.
The aim of the second phase is
the preparation for graduating from the 1st stage of an elementary study, for interest in the art creation or for continuing in studying on at the 2nd stage of The elementary school of art by the consistent method. The basic condition for a successful graduation from the 1st stage is to handle the essentials of dance techniques and to be able to give a performance at public events. During the study the individual technical and expressive abilities of students have been testified and they determine student’s further orientation. If a graduant from the 1st stage has a special talent and interest, he can take an entrance exam to 6 years study at a conservatory.

The third phase
links to the 2nd stage and its duration is 4 years too. As a performer, a graduant from the 2nd stage can apply for a job in amateurish companies of modern scenic or folk scenic dance. In case that he graduated from any other dance disciplines at 2nd stage, he has a chance to be a mime or to get employed in companies with orientation in foreign dances. Spare time activities heighten abilities to succeed in the cultural life. In case that a student graduates from the 2nd stage and chooses any other profession, he can organize cultural events and (not at least) he can be a specially educated audience as well.If a student has an astounding talent and orientation in other dance studies he can go to an entrance examination of VSMU in Bratislava.
